Where will the container be seen?
Inside your own warehouse, appearance does not matter and used stock is the obvious buy. In a returnable loop that goes to a customer or supplier, reconditioned units arrive consistent and clean, which saves the conversation about mixed labels and colors.
How many are you buying?
On a pallet or truckload the per-unit gap adds up. Many buyers mix the order: reconditioned for the units that face customers, used for storage and overflow. Minimums on used stock vary by size, so check the product page.
What reconditioning covers
Each unit is inspected, cleaned and checked for working walls and latches; damaged doors, latches or feet are replaced where needed. Ask for the lot details if a specific feature (drop doors, lid compatibility) is required.
Used does not mean broken
Used containers are sold functionally sound: walls fold and lock, the base is intact. What varies is cosmetic condition, brand mix and whether labels have been removed.
When new is the right answer
Spec-driven programs, uniform fleets and custom divider configurations are usually new factory orders from Monoflo or Orbis, in 1–4 weeks. Used and reconditioned stock wins on price and speed when the exact brand does not matter.
Resale
Containers hold value. Reconditioned units resell more easily at the end of a project; used units are cheap enough that resale matters less.
